Opened 1898 as Empress Theatre: in 1909 Bioscope described the Empress as "one of the finest of London's suburban music halls". George Edwards of St George's Hall, Westminster Bridge Road had the contract for pictures.

Rebuilt 1931. Remodelled as Granada 1957. Closed 1967.
